A video released by New York City authorities captured the moment in which a Hispanic woman is pushed onto a moving train by another lady.
The video shows how the 42-year-old woman was standing waiting for the 1/2/3 train at the 42nd Street and Seventh Avenue station in Times Square when another woman aggressively pushed her onto the train Monday morning. .
The victim, a native of New Jersey, suffered serious injuries to his face and bruises on his legs but is expected to recover, police said.
New York City Police indicated that the incident appears to have occurred at random, since everything indicates that the two women did not know each other.
“I feel bad, because I know that girl,” said the victim’s neighbor.
A day after the event, 29-year-old Anthonia Egegbara was arrested near the same station and is now facing charges of attempted murder.
Egegbara is reported to be no stranger to the police, having a long criminal history of more than a decade, including charges of theft, vandalism and assault of other people.
The most recent charge occurred on September 19, when she was caught trying to enter a train station through an emergency entrance. In this case, she was indicted on charges of theft of service.
The oldest charge stems from 2011, when Egegbara was accused of beating an 18-year-old woman and biting her finger inside another subway station.
