Blue Week celebrates its 70th anniversary! Its theme is “Together, well in its age, well in its territory.” The meeting of the seniors takes place this week, in particular in Chartres. Performance of the play “Bienvenue au Bel Automne” all week, by the company Cavalcade, at the Doussineau room, blue walk, Wednesday, health gym workshop, shuffleboard and bowling competition Thursday, giant karaoke, Friday, but also mediation by the animal with Julie and her dog Cali, on Tuesday … The program is rich.
Last year, in a context shaken up by the pandemic, 285 people took advantage of events around a conference against ageism (125) and various activities offered in independent residences (160).
Chartres is therefore active for its elders. The city manages three establishments, two independent residences (Marcel-Gaujard and Silvia-Monfort), with 111 apartments and an Ehpad with a capacity of 26 places. 122 full-time equivalents are dedicated to the Department of Autonomy and Senior Leisure.
In 2019, 2,842 people attended the seniors’ banquet and 1,668 people attended the Christmas Gala. This year, Enrico Macias will perform in front of the city’s elders for Christmas.
For this Blue Week, the City is also hosting the photo exhibition “Go, live and become old on the path of memory”, boulevard Maurice-Viollette.
This weekend, there will also be “Feeling good at home” days, to promote the various services and home comfort solutions offered to seniors in the agglomeration.
