Bali Airport Opens for International Arrivals 14 October

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia The government is gradually easing the implementation of tiered community activity restrictions (PPKM). One of them is for the opening of air bodies (airports) for international arrivals.

“Bali Ngurah Rai Airport will open internationally on October 14, 2021,” said Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan at a press conference, Monday (4/10/2021).

There are several terms and conditions given to every international arriving guest. Among other things, quarantine obligations, tests and readiness of the task force.

“Every international arrival passenger must have proof of a hotel booking for a minimum of 8 days of quarantine at their own expense,” said Luhut.

This policy was taken following the decline in positive cases of Covid in Indonesia. National confirmed cases fell by 98% and confirmed cases in Java and Bali also showed a decline of up to 98.7% from their peak on 15 July.

“The effective reproduction rate in Java-Bali has also been below 1, and specifically for Bali it is still at 1. In addition, the number of tests carried out per day continues to increase so that it can reduce the positivity rate which is already below 1,” he concluded.
