With the arrival at Guanajuato from 70 thousand biologicals of the CANSINO brand, which is a single dose, and with the next arrival of another type of vaccine that will be the largest delivery for the State, the start-up was announced in the vaccination for young people between 18 and 29 years of age in 17 municipalities.
Mauricio Hernández Núñez, delegate of the Programs for the Development of Welfare of the Government of Mexico in Guanajuato, pointed out that the application of biologicals will begin next Tuesday, October 5.
“Next week, the first week of October we will continue with the vaccination of people over 18 years of age, it will be a week that they will receive a large number of doses of the vaccine against covid-19 from different pharmaceutical companies, we will start with the from CANSINO that will help us to serve the population of semi-urban rural communities in the State of Guanajuato, but it will not be the only vaccine that will arrive this week, ”he said.
“For now we will make the announcement of the municipalities with CANSINO and in the next few hours we will continue to inform the population about new municipalities and type of vaccines that will also be applied next week,” said the federal official.
The representative of the Government of Mexico explained that they are the municipalities of Atarjea, Coroneo, Huanímaro, Jaral del Progreso, Jerécuaro, Ocampo, Pueblo Nuevo, Manuel Doblado, San Diego de la Unión, Santa Catarina, Santiago Maravatío, Tarandacuao, Tarimoro, Tierra Blanca , Victoria and Xichú, which were prioritized with the single dose brand, as they are rural, suburban and the most remote areas in the state.
Likewise, the application of the pharmaceutical company SINOVAC to the municipality of Villagrán, to the population sector from 18 to 29 years of age, will be attended.
In the case of CANSINO, the Chinese Institute verified that the vaccine has an efficiency of 65.7 percent in symptomatic cases, more than 95 percent in severe cases, and 100 percent in cases of hospitalized people.
It is also important to note that the management of this biological is much simpler because it is only required to maintain it at a temperature between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius, which is why these municipalities were chosen to apply this type of biological.
The Cansino vaccine was approved in Mexico since February 10 of this year, when the Federal Commission for the Prevention of Sanitary Risks (COFEPRIS) authorized its emergency use.
The delivery of the anti-COVID-19 vaccines to the “Correcaminos” brigade members will take place on Monday, October 4, to be distributed in their localities and guarded by elements of the National Guard or the Army.
The application is scheduled for this Tuesday from 8 in the morning to 8 at night, however this will depend on the attendance of the population.
