Mexico, in its capacity as president of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac) donated 100,000 vaccines against Covid-19 to Belize, reported this Saturday the Undersecretary of Multilateral Affairs and Human Rights of the Ministry of Foreign Relations, Margha Delgado .
In her Twitter account, the official said that this morning the Mexican ambassador to Belize, Martha Zamarripa, and SRE officials traveled together with the prime minister of the neighboring country, John Briceño, to Belizean territory to deliver the donation.
It is about 100,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine packaged in Mexico, Celac indicated on social networks.
Briceño made an official visit to Mexico this week, where he expressed his interest in the Mayan Train connecting from Quintana Roo to the town of Santa Elena, Belize. With this, it joins Panama and Guatemala, which have also announced that they expect this railway project to reach their territories.
