Jokowi Plays Ball with Papuan Children at the Opening of PON 2020

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) played football with Papuan children at the opening of the 2020 Papua National Sports Week (PON) at the Lukas Enembe Stadium, Saturday (2/10).

Jokowi surprised the audience who were present at the Lukas Enembe Stadium. In the ceremony, the number one person in Indonesia took to the field kicking the round skin.

“Let’s celebrate the 20th PON happily and uphold the values ​​of sportsmanship, brotherhood, togetherness, equality and unity among us. Let’s believe that Papua’s development will continue, and let’s participate in the success of PON,” said President Widodo. at the opening ceremony.

A total of 7,066 athletes from 34 provinces in Indonesia are participating in the 2020 Papua PON which will end on October 15, 2021. The athletes will compete in 37 sports, 56 disciplines, and 679 match numbers.
