150 years of Stijn Streuvels: writer, photographer, play bird

What did Stijn Streuvels photograph? Arne De Winde, curator of the exhibition: “What drives him is the urge to capture things, not to lose them, to document, to capture. Hence the amount of images. Very often they are not exceptional, but just banal images from everyday life: the game with the cat at the window, with the dog, the children’s dolls. That also makes his photography contemporary, because he captures things that are universal, that fascinate us all in our close environment.
