Freiburg (AP) – The soccer women of VfL Wolfsburg did not get the full number of points for the first time in this Bundesliga season and thus had to take a damper in the fight for the title. Against the so far pointless SC Freiburg, VfL did not get beyond a 2: 2 (1: 1) on Saturday.
Tabea Waßmuth put the favorites in the lead after three minutes before Mia Büchele (30th) and Hasret Kayikci (50th) turned the game around. National goalkeeper Almuth Schult helped with the 2: 1 in the meantime. Her bad pass ended up with Kayikci, who no longer had any trouble. Dominique Janssen at least saved a counter. Since defending champions FC Bayern Munich had already solved their task 6-0 at 1. FC Köln on Friday, Wolfsburg is now two points behind.
TSG 1899 Hoffenheim won the chase duel against Eintracht Frankfurt. With the 2: 1 (1: 1), the hosts pull past Eintracht and equal with VfL. The player of the year, Nicole Billa, scored the winning goal (54th). Before that, Jana Feldkamp (34th) equalized the 1-0 win from Frankfurt’s Camilla Küver (24th). In stoppage time, Laura Freilang missed the great opportunity to equalize.
