Samsung Starts Removing Ads on Default Phone Apps

Jakarta, Selular.ID – Samsung’s apps have been showing ads for years and the company has often been criticized for it. In response to this criticism, Samsung seems to be removing ads in a number of its default applications.

And sure enough, Samsung’s promise to remove ads from apps is now starting to materialize, starting with the Samsung Health and Samsung Pay apps. This was confirmed in the Samsung Community Forum by the Samsung Health Manager.

“Please note that advertisements at the top of the Samsung Health app will not be distributed starting October 1,” Samsung wrote in its announcement. Users in South Korea can now use Samsung Pay and Samsung Health completely free of charge from the app.

And users claim even the Samsung Pay app experience, experience faster access times, as well as payout times, which they claim to be ad-free.

Earlier in an internal company meeting, President and Head of Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics, TM Roh said that the company was indeed looking for new growth opportunities in the fields of content and advertising services such as games and media.

This is done to strengthen the integrated Galaxy ecosystem experience. And an update that includes removing ads on a number of the company’s default apps will be in the near future.

This is important, because according to a report by South Korean media outlet, Yonhap, the removal of this ad will be rolled out through the next update of the One UI interface software.
