Vooruit chairman Rousseau wants measures against an increase in energy bills as soon as possible: “January is too late”

If the energy bill rises, so does the income before taxes, because they are calculated in percentage terms. A proposal under consideration is therefore to return the higher tax revenues to households. It is not yet clear exactly how that would work out. The aim is to land by Monday at the latest. It will not be easy nuts to crack, because the budget is also on the table this weekend.
