JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – The Director of Traffic of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Sambodo Purnomo Yogo responded to the police’s action against the driver of a car carrying a bicycle in the cabin.
Purnomo admitted that the actions of the traffic police were wrong, especially the imposition of articles.
“The member was wrong in applying the article. Article 307 explains that motorized vehicles for public transportation of goods exceed the dimensions of transportation and can endanger safety,” said Sambodo in his statement, Thursday (30/9/2021).
Sambodo said, the driver can be ticketed if the luggage in the car interferes with the driving process.

If the luggage in the car can disturb the driver’s concentration, then the article that can be imposed is Article 283.
Contents: Any person who drives a Motorized Vehicle on the Road unreasonably and carries out other activities or is influenced by a condition that results in impaired concentration while driving on the Road as referred to in Article 106 paragraph (1) shall be punished with imprisonment for a maximum of 3 (three) months or a fine. a maximum of Rp. 750,000.00 (seven hundred and fifty thousand rupiah).
“Take action against black plated vehicles should use Article 283. Everyone who drives a motorized vehicle is affected by a situation that can interfere with driving concentration,” said Sambodo.
Sambodo finally apologized for the behavior of its members and will give sanctions according to their mistakes.
“The Directorate of Traffic apologizes and will remind the officers in the field, specifically to the officer and we will give sanctions according to the mistake,” said Sambodo.
