The mayor of Santiago del Teide, Jose Emilio Navarro, recognizes that the situation in the cave of El Tancón; in which two people have died in recent days, “is saying difficult to manage.” Navarro confirms a total of six deaths by drowning in a perfectly marked area where passage is prohibited.
