Qatar will host this season’s twentieth race, taking the place of the Japanese racewhich was repealed due to COVID-19. The Qatari government and Formula 1 have also agreed to hold a permanent Grand Prix from the 2023 season.
The twentieth stage of the season, which will take place from November 19 to 20, will be held on the Losail track, Qatar, where they have been running MotoGP races for 17 years. The inclusion of Qatar instead of Japan means that the last three races of the season will take place in the Middle East – Qatar, Saudi Arabia and finally Abu Dhabi. The main sponsor of the Losail track race will be Ooredoo, an international telecommunications company from Qatar.

“Qatar wanted to help this year [aizstājot Japānas sacīksti], as well as a vision for longer cooperation was discussed in the process and a deal was concluded for 10 years, starting from the 2023 season, ”Formula 1 management announced in a press release.
The FIFA World Cup will take place in Qatar in 2022, which was also the biggest cornerstone of the deal – both sides found it an attractive idea that after football, Formula 1 could be presented to the world of Qatar.
