The doctor was arrested on Tuesday (28/9/2021) night. The victim filed a report alleging the suspect drugged her at a clinic in the Krishna Nagar region.

After being helpless due to the drugs, the victim admitted that the suspect raped her.
According to the police report, the incident occurred on September 7, 2021, but a new case was registered on September 23, 2021.
The suspect, who has been identified as Ashish Kumar Singhiya, is a resident of an area that falls under the jurisdiction of the SGPGI (Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences) police station.
The suspect is a government doctor serving in Lucknow prison and he also runs a clinic in the Baldi Kheda area.
The victim visited Ashish’s clinic on September 7, where she was raped by him after being given some anesthetic.
“He fed me some psychotropic substances and raped me,” the victim was quoted as saying Gulf News, Thursday (30/9/2021).
After the incident, the victim filed a complaint. After the police registered the case, the officers arrested the suspect.
The local Deputy Commissioner of Police, Rajesh Srivastava, said that Ashish had been arrested on charges of rape, causing injury with poison and criminal intimidation.
