Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Users of Android and iPhone phones immediately check the mobile operating system (OS) that you are using. The reason is, starting November 1, 2021, cellphones using the old-school Android and iOS OS can no longer use WhatsApp.
This is a new policy from WhatsApp. Phones that are still using Android 4.0.3 (gingerbread) and older and iOS 9 and below can no longer use WhatsApp. The choice is to update the operating system or buy the latest smartphone.
Starting November 1, 2021, smartphones that are still using the old OS system will not be able to verify existing accounts or be unable to enter the WhatsApp application. The phone also can’t create a new account.
“The device will no longer support the WhatsApp application and will no longer be compatible starting November 1,” the News18 page said, quoted Thursday (30/9/2021).
