The hardware requirements published by the authors relate to the beta version, but of course they will be very similar even in the case of the final version of the game, which will not be long in coming. It is scheduled for November 19 and will be ready for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, PS4 and PS5. However, please note that 128-player instances will not be supported on older PS4 and Xbox One.

Later, however, more detailed specifications will be published, or hardware requirements associated with the resolution, image quality and target frame rate. Now we simply have the minimum and recommended specifications.

As for the processors, in their case, perhaps, the recommended models were pulled out of the hat. How else to explain that the minimum specifications require 6-core and 12-thread relatively modern Ryzen, while in the case of Intel the old 4-core and 4-thread Skylake is enough, while the older but eight-core Ryzen 7 with SMT is recommended, or even older, but only quad-core Haswell, but with Hyperthreading. But maybe it’s just some weird way the authors want to say that the processor doesn’t really matter.
The recommended graphics cards already have their logic, so at least we will prepare performance at the level of GTX 1050 Ti or Radeon RX 560 and ideally GeForce RTX 3060 and Radeon RX 6600 XT. It appears that the recommended specifications may cover high detail, 1080p and at least 60 FPS. They could be as low as 1080p, but lower details and probably the frame rate.
Furthermore, you will need at least 512kB internet connection throughput and also about 100 GB of space on your hard disk or better on an SSD.
The open beta testing of Battlefield 2042 will take place next week from October 6, but the first two days are reserved only for those who already have the game pre-ordered. The really open beta will not start until October 8 and will last until October 10.
