Almost three months before the start of the Christmas market season, many organizers are planning to have more space for visitors and 3G controls. So far it looks like drinking mulled wine and strolling are possible again.
Nuremberg has been planning for the world-famous Christmas market since the beginning of the year. In 2021, the market will certainly look different than “before Corona,” said a city spokesman. A “one-way system” is being used there. In 2020 the Christkindlesmarkt was canceled due to rising corona numbers.

“How infection events and the corresponding legal regulations will influence market events cannot yet be reliably assessed,” says the head of the economic development department in Dresden, Robert Franke. In 2020 the famous Striezelmarkt, which is considered one of the oldest Christmas markets in the world and would have had its 586th edition last year, has been canceled despite the hygiene and visitor concept as well as spatial equalization.
