The Projekt Spielberg Graz Giants lost last Sunday in the age groups U14, U16 and U18 against Dacia Vienna Vikings. While the U14 is with 36:0 had to give up, the U16 lost with 46:0. An exciting game could be seen in the U18 age group – but the Giants got the short straw and lost 38:24.
The U14 couldn’t win their fourth game of the season either. They had no chance against the numerically far superior Vikings and did not manage to get points on the scoreboard.
“It was still a good game for us and all the coaches are very proud of the boys. Unfortunately, it was a lot of small mistakes that took away our chance of victory. We will learn from our mistakes and work towards the next game against the Dragons on October 31st. “, says the head coach from Graz Nikolaus Terlitza.
The U16 couldn’t score on Sunday either. They lost the second game of the season against the Vienna Vikings 46:0. You couldn’t beat the big Vikings squad due to injury. The goal is now to prepare for the next opponent Salzburg Ducks on October 31st at home.
For the U18, however, a victory would have been possible – with a touchdown of Lars Hofer, as well as one of Christoph PirerBoth came about through a pass to the left into the quarterback’s end zone Elias Zaricin, one led at halftime with 7:12. After half-time, the Vikings responded with two touchdowns and pitched 19:12. However, it remained exciting when Zaricin was able to attach a pass into the end zone on Hofer. Since the subsequent two-point conversion did not result in points, the Giants shorten 19:18. In the fourth quarter, the defense of Graz ran out of breath and they allowed three more touchdowns. The touchdown of Maximilian Moisenbichler couldn’t turn the game around anymore. The Giants lost out on the Ravelin with 38:24.
“It was a very exhausting game for us. We got off to a good start and showed what we can do in defense and offense in the first half. The second half didn’t go as planned and the momentum has turned. The boys fought to the end and didn’t give up. “, so Giants Head Coach Daniel Schönet.
