The mayor, Noelia Arroyo placeholder image, accompanied by the vice mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, and the Councilor for Education, Irene Ruiz, has held a meeting with the Board of Directors of the FAMPA of Cartagena and region, to which they have recognized the great work they do to channel all the demands of the Ampas of the educational centers of the municipality of Cartagena, and to be able to give them a solution with the collaboration of the different councils and through their coordinated work.
The Board of Directors of the Federation of Mothers and Fathers of students has transferred to the City Council the need to adapt the frequencies of urban buses on certain urban lines to make them coincide with the entry and exit times to educational centers.
FAMPA has set the example of IES Carthago Spartaria de La Palma, and ask to adapt the schedules to the entrance and exit, especially for students who travel from nearby towns, such as La Aparecida or La Puebla, they must wait a long time at the stop. Situation that also occurs for university and vocational students who travel to Cartagena.
From the Government, the mayor has informed them that the line will now become a municipal responsibility, and is committed to changing the schedules to match the needs of the students.
The situation will also be studied in other lines with similar circumstances in which there is no school transport, as in the IES Elcano, the IES Pedro Peñalver of El Algar and El Bohío.
Another of the requests that FAMPA has made to the City Council refers to the access security to the schools, for whose analysis after returning to school a meeting is scheduled on Wednesday with the Councilor for Citizen Security and Public Roads, Juan Pedro Torralba, and the Councilor for Education, Irene Ruiz, to study improvements
