Another update is coming to Gran Turismo Sport

Surprisingly, this will be the second new content this month.

According to the official announcement, there will be an extraordinary server maintenance period tomorrow, i.e. September 28, and the update will arrive in the game after it is completed. Maintenance is scheduled for 06:00 to 08:00 local time.

While Polyphony Digital is likely to be extremely busy with the debut of Gran Turismo 7 on March 4, 2022, there still seems to be some capacity to develop the current version. However, not much can be known about the details of the content.

The 1.68 package will be the fifth update this year and is expected to focus on minor changes. The last very minor v1.67 update changed only some elements of the user interface. The primary goal was to update “Sport Mode” and we suspect it will continue to do so.

The online rounds of the 2021 FIA Certified Gran Turismo World Championship ended a short time ago, where Patrik Blazsán also performed excellently. It is likely that a new season will also be announced by the update.

Of course, there could be a larger content package that could bring new cars (like the Porsche 917 Living Legend or the Lamborghini Lambo V12 Vision GT) – which we’ve already seen in the GT7 promotional material – or a new track. However, we have to add that at this late stage of the game, there is not much chance of that anymore.

Users are good at getting ready and leaving at least 110 GB of free space on their consoles to allow game data to be installed.
