President Biden receives third dose of corona vaccine | Abroad

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) last week approved booster doses of Biontech/Pfizer’s vaccine for the elderly and at-risk groups. The second shot must have been taken at least six months earlier.

Biden also had the first two vaccine doses publicly administered. His 70-year-old wife Jill is also getting the third injection, Biden said. “I want to make it clear that booster shots are important, but the most important thing is that more people get vaccinated,” the president said.

The vaccination campaign in the US has lost a lot of momentum in recent months. So far, 55.3 percent of the population of about 330 million people has been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.
