Bik’Air self-service electric bicycles land in Bourges

Blue and orange: with such a color code, it’s hard to miss them in the streets of Bourges. The new Bik’Air self-service electrically assisted bicycles are starting to appear in the city of Jacques-Coeur.

The Nivernais company has dispersed a dozen of these brand new and trendy little queens near the station, the town hall and Lahitolle. A novelty for Bourges, because these bikes are self-service. In other words: no need to worry about an anti-theft device or to think about the location of a terminal when you get off the saddle. “The advantage of the boundless is that you do not need to bring the bike back to a specific location. It is an additional service, which does not exist. More flexible than what we can see since we have no parking problem. It’s something easy to set up “, explains Bik’Air boss Nathan Cohen.

To use one of these bikes, just scan the QR Code present on the bike via the dedicated smartphone application. Each minute of use costs 15 cents. Bik’Air bicycles are geolocated, allowing you to locate them from the same application.

Bik’Air is already planning to deploy 40 additional bikes during the summer. The device could continue to gain momentum if success is achieved.
