New York Stock Exchange opens in scattered order, as rates tighten, to three-month high

The New York Stock Exchange opened Monday in scattered order at the start of a week rich in indicators on the continuation of the expansion but also inflation, while rates were tightened, to the highest in three months.

At 13:35 GMT, the Dow Jones index advanced by 0.31% while the Nasdaq, where technology stocks are concentrated, lost 0.90%. The S&P 500 dropped 0.26%.

On Friday, after a hectic week, the Dow Jones closed slightly up 0.10% at 34,798 points, the Nasdaq index lost 0.03% to 15,047.69 points and the S&P 500 gained 0.15 % to 4,455.48 points.
