Dietzenbach – In the race for the district office in the Offenbach district, a runoff is necessary. In the first round on Sunday, none of the three candidates immediately achieved the required absolute majority according to the preliminary final result. Incumbent Oliver Quilling (CDU) was only slightly below with 49.6 percent. In the runoff election in two weeks’ time, he will now face runner-up Carsten Müller from the SPD, who received 27.6 percent of the vote.

Out of the running is the Green politician Robert Müller, who came to 22.8 percent. 265,697 people were eligible to vote, and the turnout was 66.8 percent. Six years ago, Quilling was clearly confirmed in office with 59.2 percent of the vote. At that time, 27.6 percent of the voters voted for Carsten Müller and 13.2 percent for Robert Müller.
