For the first time in the more than 40-year history of the Ironman, the world championship in the extreme discipline will not be held in Hawaii.
The next Ironman World Cup will take place on May 7, 2022 in St. George, Utah. The organizers announced this and explained the relocation with the corona pandemic. The situation at the traditional venue Kailua-Kona is still too uncertain. Because of the pandemic, the 2020 Ironman World Cup was canceled.
The next World Cup is scheduled to take place on October 6th – again in Hawaii. For the first time there will also be a separate race for professional women.
The Ironman includes 3.86 kilometers of swimming, 180.2 kilometers of cycling and 42.2 kilometers of running.
