At 4 pm on Saturday, the pandemic restrictions disappeared. In the hours that followed, party-hungry Norwegians flocked to nightclubs all over the country. It was not as good for everyone.
In many places, long queues and chaos were reported. In Trondheim, several people fainted outside the nightclubs, reports Adresseavisen.
Outside Justisen in Oslo, the queue was up to 65 meters long, according to NTB’s photographer on site.

Spit on window
At the nightclub Last Train, the bartender himself called the police because the situation was completely chaotic. Dagbladet’s reporter testified that a person spit on the window of the nightclub.
– It was a hell and just like World War II, says guard on Last Train, Tony Hansen, about the scenes that took place in the streets of Oslo.
– It was real chaos, people are completely cocoons. It was absolutely awful, Hansen adds.
Chaos: People faint
At the nightclub Storgata 26 it was according to VG complete chaos, and general manager Johan Høeg Haanes believes the government initiated the reopening too quickly.
– That’s exactly what I predicted in advance. It became life-threatening in the city because they have not given us at least a few days deadline, he says.
In many places in the country, the police operations centers also report a great many fights and violence.
Serious head injuries
– There have been reports of fights and disturbances in central Oslo after 2.30. We perceive that the messages have become somewhat more serious in the last hour than earlier tonight. We have logged just under 50 such incidents in the last four hours, the Oslo police write Twitter.

A man is being treated for head injuries after he was subjected to violence at Stortorget in Oslo. According to the police, these are serious injuries. Several people are said to have been involved in the incident, but so far no one has been arrested.
The Oslo police reported the case just before 3 o’clock on Sunday night. An hour later, the police report a stabbing.

Cyclist in the tunnel
In Universitetsgata in Oslo, a man was arrested for firing a police officer. Prior to this, the apprehended person had sneaked into a nightclub where he was unwanted.
The police also started the search for a woman on an electric scooter who set off in the opposite direction in the Fortress tunnel’s eastbound run.
– The kick cyclist got away from us. Fortunately, she was not hit when she drove in the opposite direction in the Fortress Tunnel, but it appeared on camera as more luck than skill, the police say.

In both Tønsberg and Skien, crews from the Southeast police district had to deal with mass fights. In Tønsberg, it happened on the pier, and a dozen people were involved. No one was seriously injured, but a man in his 20s was brought in after he was said to have been aggressive towards the police.
At a private party in Skien, a mother who came to the place was fired by a party participant. The situation developed into a mass brawl on the lawn outside. No one was seriously injured there either.
In Bergen, a man was reported for kicking in and partially breaking the door of a police car. He is also reported for threats and violence against a public official. In several places in the city there were several fights with at least five involved. In addition, a 19-year-old man was transported to hospital after hitting and kicking, and a 25-year-old had to go to the emergency room after being hit in the face with a bottle.
– It has been a busy night for the police in Agder. A number of people have been expelled from several city centers throughout Agder after minor disturbances. A total of 12 people have been arrested in the wake of riots in the city, the police in Agder write on Twitter.
