In the mass vaccination centers of Guatemala City, long lines of people were observed waiting to receive the coronavirus vaccine. They will join the 4 million 303 thousand 946 people that the Ministry of Health officially reported have already received at least one of the doses of the coronavirus vaccine.
The Ángel García family came from Mixco zone 10 to the vehicular vaccination center installed in front of the National Palace of Culture to receive together the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

The four members of the family arrived to complete their scheme accompanied by a child and even a small dog.
But people who arrived by motorcycle were also vaccinated at the site. The Díaz Navas spouses, with their months-old baby in their arms, arrived in the two-wheeled vehicle from the Vista Hermosa village, San Pedro Sacatepéquez and received the first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine.
13% have already received the complete vaccination schedule
Using the population projection data from the National Statistics Institute (INE) as a basis, there are 17 million 109 thousand 746 people in Guatemala. Of these, 2 million 207 thousand people have already received the complete vaccination scheme. That represents 12.91% of the total population, including minors who are not yet included in the vaccination phases.
In addition, 25.15% have already received at least the first dose of the vaccine. However, these numbers are still well below that of most Central American countries.
