No more 1,5 meters: these are the corona rules from today

Coronabewijs

The biggest change is the disappearance of the one and a half meters and the introduction of the corona proof. According to the cabinet, this will be used ‘in those locations where it will become busier due to the release of the mandatory one and a half meters’.

The corona proof is mandatory here

  • All catering inside (except for pick-up such as in sports canteens)
  • At events (such as festivals, performances, parties and audiences at professional sports competitions)
  • When showing art and culture (such as in cinemas and theatre

This applies both indoors and outdoors, with and without a fixed seat. The corona proof is mandatory from the age of 13, from the age of 14 the use of the corona admission ticket must be checked together with the proof of identity.

In the catering industry, a mandatory closing time from 00:00 to 06:00 continues to apply.

Events

Events held indoors without a fixed seat may continue at a maximum of 75 percent of normal capacity. With a fixed seat, there is no maximum number of visitors and the closing time of 00:00 applies in both cases if the event is held in the catering industry.

There is no maximum number of visitors and no mandatory closing time for events that are held outside. The following applies to all events: a corona check is mandatory.

Work advice adjusted

The advice was to work from home as much as possible. This is now being adjusted to ‘work at home if possible and at the office if necessary’.

face masks

At the airport, in planes, trains, buses, trams, metro, taxis, boats to the Wadden Islands and other commercial personal transport, wearing a mouth cap remains mandatory. Previously, there was also an obligation on platforms and stations, but this has now expired, said outgoing Prime Minister Mark Rutte in the latest press conference:

Education

Where previously a maximum group size of 75 was in force in MBO and higher education, that will expire as of today.

In secondary education, senior secondary vocational education and higher education, the obligation to wear masks outside the classrooms or lecture halls will no longer apply.

In childcare and primary education, it is no longer mandatory that the entire group or class is quarantined and tested if there is one infection.

To travel

We are also allowing more people from abroad to enter the Netherlands. Since last Wednesday, vaccinated travelers from the United States, the United Kingdom and other travelers from so-called ‘very high-risk areas’ no longer have to be quarantined.

Basic rules

So you can come closer than one and a half meters, although the cabinet urgently advises to keep your distance. The basic rules also remain in effect. Wash hands, do not shake hands, test in case of complaints and ventilate well.

And maybe we’ll be done with that by the end of the year.
