A 66-year-old retired doctor was indicted for incestuous rape of one of his daughters-in-law, then a minor, and is suspected of having filmed his patients naked during examinations, the Angers prosecutor’s office announced on Friday.
Working until 2017 in Vauchrétien (new town of Brissac Loire Aubance, in Maine-et-Loire), the doctor is suspected of having raped and sexually assaulted one of his daughters-in-law from 2011 to 2019, according to the prosecutor of ‘Angers Éric Bouillard.
He is also accused of having carried out “pornographic images of his two underage stepdaughters”, according to a statement.
It is the complaint of one of his daughters-in-law, now aged 19, which led the prosecution to open a preliminary investigation in 2020. During the investigation, the gendarmes discovered images of patients taken “during the examinations he practiced”, according to the same source.
“This doctor had attitudes with his patients that went beyond medical procedures”, the prosecutor told AFP. “IThere are sexual acts with naked patients. We have images but we are unable to say if the patients are consenting “, added Mr. Bouillard, adding that the patients had not all been identified.
The images are dated from 2008 to 2020.
Placed under judicial supervision Thursday with registration in the file of perpetrators of sexual offenses, the suspect “incurs, if his responsibility were to be established definitively, a sentence of criminal imprisonment of 20 years”, according to the parquet.
