Jandino only wants to perform again if everyone can do so, so when testing for access is no longer mandatory. “Choosing to cancel my entire theater tour until I can play for everyone again is not an easy one. Not emotionally, but also financially,” he writes. ‘I received a letter from a lady, which said: Dear Jandino, I have cancer and am currently going through a heavy chemotherapy. Even if I wanted to, I couldn’t take that vaccine.’

‘My immune system is too low and I don’t get a QR code either. My life is already hard, do I really have to stick a stick in my nose every time I want to do something nice to make life more bearable?’ so he quotes the woman. Jandino writes that he completely agrees with the woman. ‘Her letter touched me to the core and I decided: I cannot participate in this. I started talking to people who have already been vaccinated and who said: I’ll take that shot, but I’m not going to participate in a dichotomy in society. Because that’s what’s going on and everyone knows it!’

Jandino says that he has a company with fantastic staff, which has taken quite a beating over the past 1.5 years. In his own words, his choice does not make the future any easier, but he dares to take that risk. ‘God is big. I have been through so much in my life and have come out stronger every time. God has told me this is going to be my best year ever. Where one door closes, another opens. I am blessed.’

The comedian concludes his message with the message that he understands colleagues who do play. ‘I also really want to play. But everyone makes their own personal decision. Don’t get mad at the entertainers, the system is the problem. The last thing we need is for us to argue and point fingers. Vaccinated against unvaccinated: STOP THAT!!! That is the divide and rule tactic. Everyone fights in his or her way. The power really belongs to the people, don’t forget that.’

Although it is of course not a nice prospect not to be able to do any performances for the time being, Jandino still has great things to look forward to. Such as the birth of his third child.
