Actor Daniel Craig (53) was named honorary war captain in the British Navy on Wednesday this week, the Royal Navy announces in a press release.

He thus has the same rank as James Bond, the secret agent with the code name 007, who Craig portrays for the fifth time in “No Time To Die”.

“I am truly privileged and honored to be appointed honorary officer,” Craig said in a statement.

The appointment took place the week before the Bond film premieres.

The Commander-in-Chief of the British Navy, Admiral Tony Radakin, says Craig is an excellent ambassador.

– Daniel Craig is known for having been Commander Bond for the last 15 years – a naval officer who makes sure to keep Britain safe through missions around the world. It’s the same thing the British Navy does every single day, we use technology and skills in the same way as Bond, says Radakin.

The several-time pandemic-exposed “No Time To Die” will have its Norwegian premiere on October 1, almost six years after the previous Bond film, “Specter”.

There is great excitement about the new Bond film, which has been shot in Norway, among other places.

Several of the action sequences were shot in Nittedal, at Lutvann and along the Atlantic Road, and the scenes are also included in the trailers for the film.

The Norwegian incentive scheme for international film and series productions contributed NOK 47 million.

Daniel Craig’s end as agent 007 clocks in at a full 163 minutes, which is a record for a Bond film.
