The call of the French Blood Establishment was relayed by the Prefect of Var on twitter this Tuesday, September 21. The reservations in the Var and the PACA region more broadly are at the lowest and the EFS therefore calls for mobilization for this start of the school year.

The situation was already tense in early summer in the region with a reserve of 85,000 blood products. It is below the critical bar which was set at 90,000 by the EFS.
A need for platelet and plasma donation
Donations of plasma and platelets are often less popular with donors who know less about this type of donation but also because he takes longer (90 minutes of collection for the donation of platelets and 60 minutes of collection for the donation of plasma).
They are therefore rarely practiced during mobile blood drives, often frequented by vacationers or donors who come during their working time.

The gendarmes du Var also responded to the call. The soldiers of La Seyne-sur-Mer have makes the trip in uniform to the Blood Transfusion Center of the Armies of Sainte-Anne Toulon to come and give this Thursday, September 23.
Where to donate blood in the Var?
Until the end of October 12 mobile collections will be organized in addition to the donation house in Toulon. The EFS recalls that the health pass is not mandatory to come and donate his blood.

- La Seyne-sur-Mer: Tisot Cultural Center – Salle Loro (Berthe), avenue Jean Bartolini – blood collection Friday October 01 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- La Seyne-sur-Mer: Casino Joa, Salle des Spectacles, 340 Cours Toussaint Merle – blood drive Monday 04 October from 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Sollies-Pont : Quietude room, allée Georges Durando, blood drive Wednesday 06 October from 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Le Beausset: Espace Azur – Salle Mutltivisions, esplanade Charles de Gaulle (above the Post Office) – blood drive Thursday 07 October from 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Hyères: space 3000, roundabout of June 18, 1940 – blood collection on Monday October 11 from 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Tuesday October 12 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- Toulon : Digital and Innovation House – coworking room, place Georges Pompidou – blood drive Monday October 11 from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
- The Sheep: Estagnol Sports Complex – club House, 305 Vieux Chemin d’Hyères – blood drive Wednesday October 13 from 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- The guard : Communal house Gerard Philipe, avenue Charles Sandro – blood drive Tuesday October 19 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- Cuers : Cultural Center room, avenue Jean Moulin – blood collection Wednesday October 20 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- La Farlede: village hall, rue de la Font des Fabre – blood drive Wednesday October 27 from 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Saint-Mandrier-sur-Mer: Marc Baron room, Marc Baron square – blood drive Friday October 29 from 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
30 collections are planned for the department by mid-December.
To donate at a collection point, it is still mandatory to make an appointment online.
