Malmö gets Sweden’s first cultural sound zone, an area where cultural events can make noise without residents around them being able to complain. The fact is that no housing will be built in connection with the area in Sofielund, writes Skånska Dagbladet.
– In the cities, it is easy to crowd out other activities when building homes. The risk with that is that we get cities that are only residential areas and that we build away the other qualities. That is why we have taken this initiative that culture, leisure and industry should be able to make noise and sound in symbiosis, says Sofia Hedén (S), chair of the city planning committee.
