About 20 environmental activists from Extinction Rebellion cause massive traffic jams in the city center. The activists protest on the Glockengißerwall.
Hamburg – Nothing works in the city center on Thursday morning. 20 environmental activists create massive traffic chaos around Hamburg Central Station. At around 8:45 am, the Extinction Rebellion activists stepped onto the Glockengießerwall.

Six of the activists stick to the asphalt of the road to make it difficult to break the blockade. The police are on site with a large number. In order to remove the sticky activists, the experts of the technical train of the Hamburg police now have to move in.

The Glockengießerwall is currently completely closed between Ernst-Merck-Brücke and Steintorbrücke. It is not yet clear when the traffic will run again.
The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness for climate protection. In the past, there were repeated such radical actions in Hamburg.
