Skoda is preparing a new model for the Indian market. It will probably bear the name Slavia, and we dare say that many Europeans will quietly envy it. The company Slavia first used the name in 1899, when it (then still as Laurin & Klement) gave it to a new motorcycle. He reappeared last year, borrowed from Mladá Boleslav students for his school concept of a two-seater speedster. However, the connection between Škoda and the resonant label probably does not end there either. It is rumored that the same designation will also be given to the liftback planned for the Indian market.

India’s Škoda Slavia is in a phase of intensive preparations, as evidenced by several spy catches that have been circulating on the Internet in recent days. The novelty is to be a VW Virtus sibling seated on the MQB A0 IN platform (the same technical basis as the Kushaq crossover), but instead of the sedan version, it bets on a more practical liftback.
It all makes sense. The management of the Indian Škoda agency recently said that Rapid would not have a direct successor, but no indirect mention was made. And that is exactly what Slavia should become – a bit bigger and more modern.
Details about the new Škoda can be found on the website Auto.cz.
