mistake kidnapping

On August 5, a 56-year-old man from Hoofddorp was kidnapped in Cruquius. It soon became apparent that the perpetrators had intended to kidnap someone else. After a week, the victim of the mistaken kidnapping was found injured in a residential area in Delft. The kidnappers had kicked him out of a car and he called at multiple homes to ask for help.

A resident of Alblasserdam reported to the police after the kidnapping with the announcement that he may be the real target of the kidnapping. Recently, homes belonging to him, his girlfriend and her daughter have been attacked. Several people have already been arrested for the incident.

The police suspect that the mistaken kidnapping has to do with the interception on July 28 of 1,899 kilos of cocaine from Ecuador in the port of Antwerp.
