The Angers courthouse is participating in the Night of Law, this Monday, October 4, with an evening debate devoted to the history of the death penalty and its abolition in France.
It will take place in the hall of the Assize Court and it is open to all.
On the program, there is the screening of a documentary film “The guillotine, a French invention” in the presence of its director, Jean-Charles Deniau.
A round table will follow with Mr. Nicolas Picard, professor of history and author of a book “The Supreme Punishment”, on the application of the death penalty from 1906 to 1981, in the presence of magistrates and representatives of the bar.
