Achraf Hakimi, The Greatness That Made Madrid Feel Sinful

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Achraf Hakimi demonstrated outstanding adaptability at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). Real Madrid deserves to be more remorseful and feel that he has committed a great sin to get rid of it.

Hakimi shines in the Metz vs PSG match. Hakimi’s two goals against Metz made ‘Les Parisiens’ win 2-1 at the end of the match.

PSG’s victory made Mauricio Pochettino’s squad still collect perfect points, 21 points, from seven matches that have been passed.

As a newcomer at PSG, Hakimi is expected to make a big impact. However, his glittering arrival was then lost because PSG also brought Sergio Ramos, Lionel Messi, Georginio Wijnaldum, and Gianluigi Donnarumma at the same time.

Despite his glittering defeat, Hakimi actually proved that he is a new player who can immediately adapt to the PSG squad.

When Donnarumma was fighting for position with Keylor Navas, when Sergio Ramos had not had a chance to play, and when Messi was yet to show his magic, Hakimi has appeared in nine games with a record of three goals and two assists.

Seeing Hakimi’s greatness shining brighter at the age of 22, Los Blancos will continue to feel guilty for letting him go.

Hakimi is a product developed by Madrid. He started to break into the Los Blancos first team in 2017 but it was difficult to get many minutes because Madrid had Dani Carvajal.

Hakimi was then loaned to Borussia Dortmund. At Dortmund, Hakimi has proven that he has great potential as the best right-back.

Instead of repatriating Hakimi after two seasons at Dortmund, Madrid instead chose to sell Hakimi to Inter. Los Blancos felt the decision to sell Hakimi was the best decision because of the financial benefits, the depth of the squad at right-back and the figure of Dani Carvajal. Hakimi also stated that he did not want to be treated as a coating at Madrid.

After being sold to Inter, Hakimi proved that he could not only shine in the Bundesliga. Hakimi was able to adapt immediately and became an important factor in Inter Milan’s success in winning the Scudetto.

Last season, Madrid actually experienced problems at right-back because Carvajal was injured. Lucas Vazquez even had to operate as a right-back as an alternative strategy.

When Inter experienced financial difficulties at the end of the season, Inter had to release Hakimi to PSG. In one season, Hakimi’s price has jumped from 43 million euros to 60 million euros.

Seeing Hakimi return to adapt quickly in Ligue 1, Madrid will continue to remember Hakimi as one of the regrets for the sins they have committed.
