The woman they found on the Croatian island of Krk once made jewelry for American stars. At the age of 19, Dana A. was to leave for the USA, where she gradually got into making jewelry for Brigitte Bardot and Barbara Streisand.
The Slovak woman, who was discovered on the Croatian island of Krk, has an interesting past. Fifty-seven-year-old Dana A. left for the USA at the age of 19 and began making jewelry by hand. The woman of a remarkable life story was noticed by the Croatian portal 24sata.hr.
First she had to make a living as a nanny, then as a maid and real estate agent. Eventually he got to study design. Subsequently, she began making jewelry. She made them of gold, precious stones, and pearls. Because of how beautiful the jewelry was, her friend connected her with people from the film industry.
So her jewelry has appeared in many movies and series. Dana A.’s creations were worn by characters from the series Friends and Sabrina, a young witch. “First I created my designs from cheaper materials, then I started investing in more expensive materials,” she told the Trenčín edition of the SME daily in 2008.
Her creations then began to be worn by even the world’s biggest stars. Her jewelry was owned by Brigitte Bardot, Barbara Streisand and Diana Ross. In addition, they exhibited in New York, Japan and Hong Kong.
After divorcing her husband in 2000, the wife returned to Slovakia. “After the divorce, I wanted to take another breath and change the environment,” she said 13 years ago.
Danu A. was found injured by a Croatian fisherman on the island of Krk last Sunday. She had a bloody wound on her face and didn’t know her name or where she was from. Thanks to witnesses from the Czech Republic, the Croatian police managed to find out that she was a woman from Trenčín.
