Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) senior investigator Novel Baswedan raise his voice regarding the examination of his cousin who is the governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan related to the alleged corruption case in land acquisition in Munjul, Pondok Ranggon, Cipayung, East Jakarta.
Novel explained that anyone could be questioned if the investigator judged that they knew the case being handled. He emphasized that he had never tried to protect Anies from being investigated because he was not involved in handling the case.
It is known that the KPK’s examination of Anies was carried out when Novel was inactive and it was decided that he would be fired as of September 30, 2021.
“But, if it is related to myself, we understand that at the KPK people should have integrity. When someone later said I could manage everything, it meant that person wanted to say that at the KPK people have no integrity, I think he was wrong,” Novel said. in the Mata Najwa program, Wednesday (22/9).
“Secondly, in the KPK there is a division of tasks, in the investigation there are also sections, each of which does not know the cases handled by the others. At the KPK it is not uncommon for such interventions,” he continued.
The novel reveals that the system that runs in the anti-corruption agency does not accommodate such acts of intervention. If he really protects Anies, it will also be exposed by other investigators.
“If the KPK is not investigated, but at the trial it will be seen, everyone will know because the trial is open. So if someone wants to cover up the investigation process in such ways, the investigation will be open. Everything is clear, ‘ said Novels.
Anies was questioned as a witness for the suspect Yoory Corneles Pinontoan, the former President Director of Perumda Pembangunan Sarana Jaya, Tuesday (21/9).
From that examination, KPK investigators explored the process of budget proposals earmarked for Perumda Pembangunan Sarana Jaya. One of the budgets is intended for land acquisition in Munjul.
“The person concerned was present and confirmed in general, among others, related to the budget proposal process for the capital investment of the DKI Jakarta APBD to Perumda Sarana Jaya,” said Plt. Spokesperson for KPK Enforcement, Ali Fikri, Wednesday (22/9).
Anies is said to have also provided information related to the 0 rupiah down payment program. This is as KPK’s finding that land acquisition in Munjul is planned to be used for the program.
“Besides that, the witness explained about one of the capital contributions to Perumda Sarana Jaya which is allocated for the development of DP Rp0 houses,” said Ali.
In this case, Yoory is not the sole suspect. The KPK has also named a number of other parties as suspects. Among them are the Director of PT Aldira Berkah Abadi Makmur, Rudy Hartono Iskandar; Director of PT Adonara Propertindo (AP), Tommy Adrian; Deputy Director of PT AP, Anja Runtuwene; and corporation, namely PT AP.
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) found a state loss of Rp. 152.5 billion from the alleged corruption.
