Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Shia minority Afghanistan from the Hazara ethnic group said they were ready to go to war with Taliban when they break promises and form authoritarian line governments.
This statement was made by the leader of the Hazara group and former Vice President of Afghanistan Karim Khalili, on Wednesday (22/9).
“So far, we have seen the interim Cabinet (Taliban), which is by no means inclusive. The continuation of this path is unacceptable to other (political) forces and ethnic groups,” Khalili said in a statement. TASS.
“This situation will surely become unbearable for the Tajiks and Uzbeks, and they, along with the Hazara, will return to the battlefield.”
Khalili also expects the global community’s role in suppressing the Taliban to create a more inclusive government. He believes this pressure could avoid a civil war between his group and the Taliban.
“We are still fighting for it and hope that the Taliban will learn from (the experience) in the 1990s and will be ready to establish an inclusive government and refrain from tyranny,” Khalili continued.
“We must not be forced to take the path of armed resistance to protect the lives and basic rights of our people.”
According to Khalili, the development of the Afghan government is not only an internal problem but also a global security threat.
“I hope that poverty, war, drugs and lack of a legitimate system of government enforced by the people and global community, will not make Afghanistan again a breeding ground for terrorist groups. (Terrorist activity) not only destroys the area itself, but also poses a threat. for international security,” Khalili said.
As previously noted, the Taliban has often promised to implement an inclusive government under its current leadership. However, it seems that it is still just a statement, there has been no concrete action so far.
The Afghan interim cabinet formed by the Taliban contains a majority and all men. This decision does not reflect the inclusive government the Taliban had previously promised.
