Thus, the PBK channel hopes to attract a larger audience among Latvian-speaking viewers. The channel will offer viewers entertaining content recorded in Latvian. The content of the channel will be completely new, they will be entertaining and detective genre series, shows, as well as popular domestic programs and series that have been shown on iTV so far, the producer says.

Her challenge will be to completely “rebrand” the channel’s image, making it more attractive to the Latvian-speaking audience, and also to keep the current Russian-speaking audience, Cinovska explains.

Cinovska emphasizes that “for the first months we will just run in, study the wishes and requirements of this audience, but already in November and December we plan to offer our viewers new local content, including the most popular iTV programs and series”.

Changing the work environment has been a challenge for Cinovska herself. “It was customary for me to be my own boss and to take 100% responsibility, because since the age of 19 I have been a TV director and producer, creating TV projects of all genres, all the way to my iTV. Agreeing to become the creative director of Baltic First Channel, first “I had to realize that I am part of the team, not the only captain – on my own ship.

Valkers Vēveris, PBK’s program planning director, justifies the change in content with the need to think long-term: “We work in the Latvian market, and therefore content in Latvian will become the key to competition in the future recorded in Latvian, but that’s not all. We will also broadcast programs and TV series that were originally written in Latvian. “

But Sergey Klimakov, head of the channel’s analytics department, told Delfi: “We are very serious about analyzing the data, watching what the audience demands. Of course, the current channel content also has its own stable audience. , but new content in Latvian will be broadcast on the PBK channel in the future. Therefore, we decided to attract a new creative director with long experience in creating TV content, Jacqueline Cinovska, who will work with our team to change the content of the channel. “

According to the data of the research company “Kantar”, in August the most watched channel in Latvia was LTV1, whose viewing time according to the consolidated data was 12%. The second most watched channel in August was TV3 with a 9% share of viewing time, while PBK was in third place with 6.6% of the total TV viewing time.
