3,000. Such is the number of suspensions of unvaccinated nursing staff in France, for a total public of 2.7 million employees, according to the Minister of Health, Olivier Véran, who spoke on Thursday, September 16, 2021.
Since last Wednesday, all staff in health or medico-social establishments must have entered a vaccination course in order to be able to exercise their profession. What about Bernay hospital center (Eure) ? “The figures are very good, whether for caregivers or non-caregivers, holders or contractors”, rejoices Nathalie Horn, the deputy director, who speaks of 98% of professionals with a health pass valid (either a vaccination certificate, or a certificate of contraindication to vaccination or a certificate of recovery after infection with Covid-19 dating less than 6 months) among some 600 agents subject to this obligation within the Bernayan establishment.
“There are still around ten people who have not been able to provide a certificate because they are on long-term absence. There are also a few professionals, very few, who have only received one injection and have to provide PCR tests. And there are three people suspended. “
Discussions
These three suspensions concern a nurse and two doctors, in the hospital. “We have set up an organization so that patients can be monitored and treated,” assures the deputy director. One of the two doctors no longer able to practice is radiologist. To cope with this absence, “we use teleradiology, explains Nathalie Horn. The images are scanned, then read and interpreted at the Eure Seine Hospital Center. “
Discussions are continuing with the three professionals in question in order to “continue to convince them to be vaccinated”, specifies the deputy director. One of them could soon do so.
