The singer and actress of the golden age of Mexican cinema, Enriqueta “Queta” Jiménez, better known as “La Prieta Linda”, died this Tuesday, September 21, of natural causes, at the age of 88, at her home From Mexico City.
Enriqueta Jiménez Chabolla, her real name, was born on July 4 in Salamanca, Guanajuato; She was the younger sister of fellow singer and actress Flor Silvestre, mother of Pepe Aguilar and grandmother of Angela Aguilar and who died last year at the age of 90, also due to natural causes.
When Queta and Flor were teenagers they formed a musical duet called “Las Flores” and thus began to attract attention in the entertainment world; Together they did many tours, until each one started with their projects separately.

The actress is also known for having sponsored Juan Gabriel’s career, in addition to being the person who helped him get out of jail when he was accused of robbery and for that reason they sent him to the famous black palace, Lecumberri.
