Zouhair Feddal, who was on the substitutes’ bench on the trip to Estoril (1-0 for the Lions), ends his contract at the end of the season but automatically renews when he plays 25 games. The centre-back has already played six games this season.
Feddal’s departure from eleven to the Amoreira game was Rúben Amorim’s biggest surprise. The Moroccan international did not leave the bench, mainly due to the issue of physical management, as he still has to be careful due to a foot problem that has affected him. The defender’s return to eleven is scheduled for Friday, when the lions host Marítimo.
Feddal has a contract with Sporting valid until June 2022 but the renewal, according to A BOLA, will be automatic as soon as the player plays 25 games in 2021/2022 – 19 to go. The Moroccan that the lions signed from Betis in the summer of 2020, for €2.15 million, he left a lot of market in Spain and has been watched by Celta de Vigo and Villarreal. The Sporting administration is, however, calm, due to the automatic renewal – the clause to terminate the bond is 45 million euros.
