PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Jimmy Garoppolo threw a touchdown pass and ran for another to lead the San Francisco 49ers’ victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday 17-11.
Nick Bosa had two sacks and the San Francisco defense held Jalen Hurts at bay, a week after Philadelphia dominated Atlanta 32-6.
Hurts completed 12 of 23 passes for 190 yards. He ran for 82, including a one-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter.
The 49ers (2-0) return home after training all week at the Greenbrier Resort in West Virginia, and a pair of road wins on the East Coast to kick off the season.
The Eagles (1-1) took a reality check in their first game at coach Nick Sirianni’s home.
Fans welcomed the Eagles to a sold-out crowd for the first time since their postseason loss to Seattle on January 5, 2020.
