TV: Rebic scorer for Milan

Juventus has had a tough start to the season in Serie A and on Sunday night Milan came to visit for a big meeting. Then you would get a dream start to the match.

A corner kick created great disorder in the penalty area with a goal nearly scored by Paulo Dybala. It was a running duel between Morata and Hernandez, which the former won and eased in 1-0 over Mike Maignan in the Milan goal.

Milan chased an equalizer for the remainder of the first half, but failed to create enough good chances. In the middle of the hunt, they also got the defensive tooth Simon Kjaer injured, when the Dane seemed to get a stretch in the thigh in a running duel with Morata. In Kjaer’s place came the young Frenchman Pierre Kalulu.

In the second half, Milan continued to chase an equalizer, while Juventus threatened counterattacks. But in the end, Milan would score the next goal of the match. After 76 minutes, Sandro Tonali sent the corner kick right to Ante Rebic who headed it sharply past the keeper. 1-1. A goal that had hung in the air, when Milan pressed Juventus hard during the period before the goal.

Rebic was then close to making it 2-1 shortly afterwards, as Milan accounted for a quick conversion and contract. The finish from close range, however, went over the goal.

Juventus were also close to making it 2-1. A well placed corner kick from Federico Chiesa was followed by Moise Kean’s hard but accurate header. Kean shot, but the ball went just wide.

However, the best position would be for Kalulu. Hernandez released the Frenchman who came one on one with Wojciech Szczesny and shot – but the Pole made a world-class save and steered the ball to a corner.

It was the last hot goal chance of the match and there were no more goals in the match. 1-1 was the final result and Milan’s first points loss of the season was a fact. The red-blacks from Milan are now in shared first place, with ten points after the initial four matches, together with local rival Inter. However, Inter have a better goal difference and pinch first place.

– We did not start the match well, but we reacted and then made a good match. Now we look forward to the next match, says Milan captain Alessio Romagnoli to DAZN and continues:

– This is definitely one of the best Milan troops we have had as long as I have been with the club (since 2015), but we must remain concentrated and remember that there is a long way to go.

Juventus, in turn, are in 18th place in the table with two points after the initial four matches. That is, in the relegation zone, without having won a match in Serie A yet. This year’s start to the season is the worst Juventus has had since the 1961-62 season.

Juventus: Szczesny – Danilo, Bonucci, Chiellini, Alex Sandro – Bentancur, Locatelli, Rabiot – Cuadrado, Dybala, Morata.

Milan: Maignan – Tomori, Kjaer, Romagnoli, Hernandez – Kessie, Tonali – Saelemaekers, Diaz, Leao – Rebic.
