Long lines at vaccination posts against covid-19 on the eve of the day for people over 30 years old

Despite the fact that the anticovid vaccination day for people aged 30 years and over is scheduled for this Monday, September 20, from the morning of this Sunday, the population began to queue or reserve places in some of the positions authorized by the Ministry of Health (Minsa) in Carazo and its municipalities.

In the municipalities of San Marcos, Jinotepe and Diriamba, the population from the early hours of this Sunday placed chairs on the sidewalk to reserve their places and apply the first dose of AstraZeneca. The local media La Voz del Norte assured that it received complaints that many of these people really what they are doing is securing the places to later sell them for 200 or 300 cordobas to the people who are really going to be inoculated.

Another citizen report from Jinotepe affirmed that some of the people who reserved places with chairs are even offering them at a price of a thousand córdobas; “It is confirmed because my cousin went to ask,” he said.

At the vaccination posts, the number of people arriving on foot or in their vehicles with portable benches to secure their places was notorious. One of the least crowded positions was the La Cachorra community center, in Diriamba, because those in charge of said headquarters evicted the citizens who arrived with their chairs to save a place, according to the source of the area, because he learned from local residents that they would try to sell the stalls for a thousand córdobas.

“It is a very important need for us right now at this time of pandemic, but we are seeing that the line is very long … but I think we must have a little patience and the objective of this is to get the vaccine because honestly all this is dangerous . People from an early age are already lining up waiting to get vaccinated tomorrow, “a citizen who was queuing to get vaccinated in San Marcos told the journalist Elba Ileana Molina.

Disorder and speculation in the ranks

At Pedrito Narváez Cisneros Health Post number 2, located in Jinotepe, enabled for the vaccination this Monday, citizens complained that some people put up to six chairs in line, when the one who looked after the place was only a member of the family. In the place there is no authority that regulates this type of situation.

«I am fighting for my place because the people who I think are coming to be vaccinated are ahead of me putting chairs in and that is not fair, one here comes to be in the sun and be hungry until dawn, being hungry. Two come to take care of them and then they put six chairs in, “said Marisol Valdivia, a citizen who was standing in line waiting for her vaccine.

“They are putting the chairs in and it is not fair that other people are in their houses and one here who comes earlier, the Police should see that too,” another citizen seconded with an annoyed tone.
