E-Sport – SC2 professional HeRoMaRinE in top four – Maru wins ASUS ROG – Sport

Stockholm (AP) – The German Starcraft 2 professional Gabriel “HeRoMaRinE” Segat made it into the top four of the ASUS ROG case. The winner of the tournament was Cho “Maru” Seong-ju from South Korea.

HeRoMaRinE was surprised by his tournament performance. After the group stage, the mousesports player wrote on Twitter: “Accidentally got through my ASUS ROG group, I didn’t expect that because I wasn’t as well prepared as at Dreamhack.”

Starcraft crime against Reynor

In the group, the Terran player met three Korean Protoss players and qualified for the playoffs with a second place (2-1). In the quarter-finals, HeRoMaRinE then delivered a real thriller in a best-of-five series against Riccardo “Reynor” Romiti. After the German was initially behind with two maps and the Italian thus had three match balls, HeRoMaRinE won the upper hand and took three maps in a row.

“Somehow I made it to the semi-finals,” wrote the German on Twitter after the match. That was the end of it though: HeRoMaRinE was clearly defeated 0: 3 against Maru.

Maru was unstoppable

In the final, two South Koreans won the tournament in a best-of-seven series. The Terran player Maru clearly triumphed against Lee “Rogue” Yeol (4-2).
