MORELIA, Mich., September 19, 2021.- In order to bring free medical care to women between 40 and 69 years of age, the Ministry of Health of Michoacán (SSM) will deploy its five mobile units from September 20 to 24 of mammography for the benefit of women from indigenous communities or those with difficult access.
According to a statement, the foregoing for the purpose of early detection of breast cancer, in order to provide timely treatment, especially to those women who have risk factors.
The medical units will be installed on September 20 and 21 in the municipality of Sahuayo and in the town of San Martín, belonging to Sixto Verduzco; so from 20 to 22 in Huiramba.
On the 22nd and 23rd it will be installed in the town of Villachuato, municipality of Puruándiro, from 22 to 24 in San Lucas and Cojumatlán; while on the 24th in the town of Estancia del Río, belonging to the municipality of Angamacutiro, and Pátzcuaro.
Thus throughout the week (20-24) they will remain permanently in the municipalities of San Lucas and Uruapan.
The SSM encourages women in these localities to have their mammography performed, since it is considered the most effective method for a timely diagnosis of breast cancer, with an impact on reducing mortality.
